We recommend you read through a few of the event planning and promotion blogs to learn some best practices on promoting your event. A cool flyer or e-mail helps but you'll generate more attendees if you can get your materials in front of right people at the right time.

Don't forget to include clear, simple instructions for registering.

• Post cards are a great starter, you could print and mail or print and distribute in the Sunday Bulletin. Sometimes mailing is better because there's a few less steps to get it from the mail box to the refrigerator door... Anytime you mail something it is best to let people know to look for it with a phone call or at least an announcement at church. Personal connections always get more attention and greater response rates. Focus post cards to tell essential details like WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE TO FIND MORE INFO.
• Flyers are great for posting around the church or mailing to potential attendees. Keep the text focused to just the essential information - WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW MUCH, HOW TO REGISTER.
• Registration Forms are essential, no sense promoting something if someone can't sign up to attend! Be sure to clearly indicate what is included in the cost of registration so that your attendee understand how much value you've packed into the event. And explain any payment schedules or policies as well.
• E-mails are the best way to drip information. Think of it like a cup of coffee, pouring a bunch grounds into a cup of hot water is nasty - your coffee tastes much better when the water drips past those grounds and fills little by little. Use e-mails to share the essential information like your flyer did, but then add to it... send another with information about the speaker, another about the band, another about the activities, another about what to pack.  Always include directions for registering.
