For many guests, Dave Striker is one of the first people they meet when arriving at Lake Williamson.  Before I was on staff here, I planned events that were held at Lake Williamson.  Dave Striker & the entire hosting team are not only very hospitable and accommodating to guests, but they also go above and beyond to meet group's needs so that guests can connect with God and have a time of renewal during their stay.  I say that because I have experienced the loving Christian hospitality of Dave Striker's team as a guest.

Before serving at Lake Williamson Dave & Debe served as house parents at a home for troubled teens.  Several months ago, Dave announced that he and his wife Debe had received God's call to return home to North Dakota.  Today's post is bitter sweet.  Dave & his entire family have worked in every department at Lake Williamson over the years.  Seeing them depart will be difficult, but we are also excited for what God is doing in and through Dave & Debe.

A couple weeks ago we held a luncheon honoring Dave.  We tried really hard to dig up some funny stories from his time at Lake Williamson.  Not one person could really come up with anything.  Dave has always been calm, cool, & collected, making sure that every detail was covered so that our guest's stay at Lake Williamson would be perfect.

Reflecting back on my experience as a guest, our group had requested Lake Williamson to set up our meeting space one way.  Upon arrival, our room was set just as we requested.  However as we started to walk through how we would actually have our worship services and seminars we quickly realized it wouldn't work.  Previously we had held the event at corporate hotels, when you request big changes, like resetting a meeting room at a hotel...  they say sure, but it will cost you.  I remember approaching Dave to see about making changes, he sat down with me, worked to understand our needs, and then the entire hosting team dropped everything they were doing and cheerfully made the changes to our meeting room.

Over the last several weeks, Martin Miller has been working alongside Dave training to take on the Guest Services Supervisor role.

Dave & Debe, thank you for your 20 years of faithful service to the ministry at Lake Williamson, we pray that God would richly bless you and your ministry in North Dakota.
