Nurture your Marriage - part 1

February 14th is quickly approaching, and, whether you observe “Valentine’s Day” or not in your family – it’s a great reminder of the need to take time to invest in & nurture your marriage.

If you ask any woman what she wants from her husband…I would guess that 99% of us will say Time.  (If my husband even hears me reference quality time he’s already starting to groan) However, if you ask men what they want out of their marriage you may hear something more along the lines of “my spouse to enjoy my hobbies more, or my wife to acknowledge the work that I have done”, and, then chances are they may also reference….well….you know where this is headed J.  Sometimes our ideas are very different, but that’s OK – God made us different for a purpose!

(Gen. 5:2) He Created them Male & Female and Blessed them.

God knew that with each unique difference he created in Man & Woman, that together – we would balance each other out.  Isn’t it amazing to know that God’s vision for our marriage is so much bigger than our own.

Whatever your plans are this February 14th, I hope you have scheduled time with your spouse.  If you have an opportunity to get away – that’s wonderful! (A marriage retreat is an investment you will never regret).  But even if you’re just looking forward to an hour or two together, make it count.

I myself will be sitting on a bass boat (in hopefully warmer than 30 degree temps) watching my favorite guy catch the big one.  All the while looking forward to a nice dinner & romantic movie that evening.
