Nurture your Marriage - part 2

Isn’t it easy to get tied up in everyday life and “forget” to make time for our spouse?

1 Corinthians 7:27-28 tells us “those who marry will face many troubles in this life”. If we aren’t making time to connect with each other regularly – these troubles can take over and soon we find ourselves in a very unpleasant place.

Maybe you can’t schedule a weekly date night, but could you make time for 1 night a year? With the right mix of Worship & time alone with your spouse, a marriage retreat can help bring into focus what God intended our marriage to be.   As you spend time in worship & prayer with your spouse you will not only get closer with God, but also with each other.

Christian marriage retreats can also focus on wide variety of “life” topics...including finances, children, marital relations and family.  All of these things have potential to become stressors in marriage. Spending time communicating together about these topics, in an environment that’s not disruptive – can help you to understand each other better.

Taking time away like this will take pre-planning, especially for the families with small children, but I think you will find the investment in your marriage, far outweighs the work you will put into things like adjusting schedules and finding childcare!
