We talk on setting goals and objectives often on our blog. We reference it in at least 75% of all posts, however its been a while since we devoted a post to writing goals and objectives. It's resolution setting time, call me cliche for choosing this time of year for a post like this. However more than the new year, we are 18 months away from summer 2012. Technology For Multi-Tasking

Checking out with phones...?

Our smart phones keep us connected, entertained, organized and constantly multi-tasking. Plus they increase our cool factor at least 10%, right? Well the cool factor shot up 1000% at several retailers this Christmas season when I was checked out by a cashier using their iPhone. These stores weren't strangled by a limited number of cash registers forcing their customers to wait in long lines. No store owner wants a person's last memory to be: 'They always have long lines, I'm not going back.' Instead they gave their employees the tools, training, and authority to leave a secondary task like tidying up shelves to jump in and out of checking guests out.
